Back in time by Ruth

“We should build a time machine,” said Anna.

“Great idea!” said Charlie.

“But I don’t know how to build one?” said Anna.

“Let’s look it up,” said Charlie.

They looked it up and started building it.

“It’s done!” they both yelled.

“Let’s get in,” said Anna.

They started it up. Set the date to January 10, 753 BC.  It felt like everything stopped and then they landed.

“Everything looks so weird and I don’t know what to do?” said Charlie.

”We can’t look it up because we don’t have our phones,” said Anna.

Then a Roman came up behind them.

Oh no!

  1. Lovely use of dialogue to build your story. Great punctuation.
It is suspenseful as well as humorous – I love how they were unable to use their phones to help them. I wonder how they are going to get back.

  2. This is a really great story Ruth! You have made good use of dialogue in a way that lets the story flow and the ending has left me really curious to see how everything will play out! I wonder how they will cope in the past with no modern technology?

    Keep up the good work!
